Commonly Asked Questions

Why does my skin turn red and feel hot and itchy after I take my supplement?

Skinphoria supplements contain a safe but large dose of vitamin B3, also known as niacin (nicotinic acid). Niacin triggers the blood capillaries near the surface of the skin to temporarily dilate and expand to approximately 3 times their normal size. This causes a prickly, hot or tingling sensation and results in reddening of skin for about 30 minutes to an hour (sometimes a bit longer). A niacin flush is harmless and some people enjoy the sensation. However, to reduce its severity, simply take the supplement on a full stomach and drink plenty of water. Niacin plays an important role in clarifying and maintaining healthy skin. Please also note that if taken on a consistent basis, your body will get used to the the "flush" caused by Skinphoria supplements and it will feel less intense after some time. However, you will continue to benefit from its detoxifying and skin clarifying properties.

When will I see results?

Even though most customers notice their skin start to clear after a few days, for others it may take 2 or 3 months of consistent use to see results. It is normal to experience your skin "purging" for a few weeks before it begins to clear, sebum production is normalized, and no new breakouts occur.

How do I achieve best results?

For best results, take 1 supplement twice per day, on a consistent basis, while maintaining a healthy diet and getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Sleep is very important for your skin to be able to clear out toxins, synthesize collagen and replenish nutrients. Our ingredients (especially the collagen-forming amino acids!) work their hardest while you catch some ZZZ's!

Where do I find the expiry date? And what is "DOM"?

Due to FDA requirements, Health Kandy uses a date of manufacture (the date the product in the bottle was produced) rather than an expiration date, for our dietary supplements. The Date Of Manufacture ("DOM") can be found on the bottom of the supplement bottle. The supplements are guaranteed to be stable at full potency for 2 years from the manufacture date.

Our supplements contain no animal products and are vegan-friendly.

I have a gluten allergy - can I take these supplements?

Where are Health Kandy's Skinphoria supplements made?

Skinphoria is proudly made in the U.S.A. by a leading, family-owned manufacturer whose facility is cGMP certified and FDA-approved. Our manufacturer mainly produces nutraceuticals for naturopathic medical offices and their standards for quality, potency and safety are some of the highest in the U.S.A.

How do I know that Health Kandy's Skinphoria supplements are superior to other vitamin/supplement brands on the market?

Our supplements are produced at a cGMP licensed, government inspected manufacturing facility ensuring product quality and integrity. Every ingredient added is tested for purity and potency using an NSF designed hazard analysis program and USP method 1119 near-infrared spectroscopy, ensuring consistent quality every time. In plain English, our manufacturer uses chemists and some expensive and complicated machinery to do a LOT more testing for safety, purity and potency than is necessary by law for supplements in the U.S.A.
